TNJ Retirement Partners works with employers and advisors who want retirement plan support from people they know, trust, and can rely on.
Retirement plans come with detailed requirements, important deadlines, and decisions that affect both the business and its employees. We help clients navigate those responsibilities with care, responsiveness, and a relationship built on trust and collaboration.
Our approach
We believe a strong TPA relationship should feel like a true partnership. Our role is not only to complete the technical work, but to be available, attentive, and engaged as questions arise and plans evolve.
We take the time to understand each client’s needs, communicate clearly, and provide steady support through the ongoing responsibilities of maintaining a retirement plan.

Why experience matters
Experience matters because retirement plans are rarely set-it-and-forget-it.
Retirement plan administration involves more than understanding the rules. It requires the judgment to apply them carefully, recognize potential issues early, and help employers make informed decisions as their plans change over time.
At TNJ, our experience helps us provide thoughtful problem-solving, steady support, and a practical approach to the ongoing responsibilities of maintaining a retirement plan.
Why Credentials Matter
Retirement plan administration is technical, detail-driven work with rules that affect plan compliance, employer responsibilities, and participant outcomes. Professional credentials and designations reflect a commitment to understanding those rules, maintaining current technical knowledge, and applying that knowledge carefully in day-to-day plan operations.
At TNJ, these credentials support the work we do for employers by reinforcing our focus on accuracy, compliance, and informed guidance.
QKA® and QPA™ are professional credentials issued by the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), a retirement industry association within the American Retirement Association. ERPA is an IRS designation for qualified retirement plan professionals who are authorized to practice before the IRS on certain retirement plan matters.
QKA® — Qualified 401(k) Administrator The QKA® credential, issued by ASPPA, reflects specialized knowledge in defined contribution retirement plan administration. It demonstrates technical competence in 401(k) plan management, compliance, testing, contributions, distributions, participant loans, reporting, and related plan operations. Earning the QKA® shows that the credentialed professional has met ASPPA’s national standard for professionals working with 401(k) retirement plans.
QPA™ — Qualified Pension Administrator The QPA™ credential, issued by ASPPA, reflects advanced technical knowledge in qualified retirement plan administration, with particular emphasis on defined benefit plan concepts and requirements. The credential program includes topics such as benefit plan types, benefit accrual methods, QDROs, benefit calculations, valuations, and other technical rules involved in administering retirement plans. Earning the QPA™ demonstrates a strong foundation in complex plan administration and the ability to work effectively with employers who maintain more technical plan designs.
ERPA — Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent The ERPA designation is granted by the Internal Revenue Service to qualified retirement plan professionals who are authorized to practice before the IRS on certain retirement plan matters. ERPAs must demonstrate knowledge of qualified retirement plan rules, IRS correction programs, compliance issues, and plan administration requirements. They are also subject to IRS enrollment standards, suitability requirements, and continuing education obligations to maintain their designation.
